Google Spam Update December 2024 Impact On My Site

Google rolled out its latest and hopefully, the last Spam Update of this year on 19th  December 2024. You can check the status of Google spam update on its search status dashboard.

In this article, I will insert search console screenshots to show my site’s real statistics. This blog was affected by the March Core update, followed by the August 2024 and November 2024 updates.

However, there are signs of improvement after the December 2024 spam update. I could see traffic volume surging on my site even though the update is yet to be completed.

The spam update is powered by Google’s advanced SpamBrain system. It identifies and penalizes websites that violate Google’s spam policies or implement malicious practices such as buying backlinks.

Starting from 2021, when Google released its first spam update to counter spammy sites, website owners are now more cautious.

Those still implementing black hat techniques will see a traffic drop on their sites. Black hat techniques involve getting paid backlinks, or unethical ways to promote their sites.

Impact on My Site After Google’s December Spam Update 2024

As you can see from the graph, the total number of impressions before 18 December 2024 was 67. As soon as the spam update was released, it jumped to 632.

Now that’s a nice result looking at my site’s poor performance for over 10 months.

What’s the best gift for an SEO newbie or an expert this Christmas?

Well! Not everyone would accept the spam update as a Christmas gift.

After looking at the search console statistics, I am happy and expect the traffic to grow. But, you never know what Google has for SEO in the future. 

Some say AI will kill SEO completely, but I believe AI tools and software can be leveraged for automation tasks. Using AI writing software for article generation is not a good idea.
